Dr. Netta Green is a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Martin Buber Society of Fellows, Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2022-2026), specializing in French and European historical studies. Previously, she held the Charlotte Elizabeth Procter Honorary Fellowship at Princeton University (2021-2022) and the Georges Lurcy Fellowship for Research in France (2019-2020).
Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in History from Princeton University (2016-2022), an M.A. in History from Tel Aviv University (2014-2016), and a Bachelor's degree from Tel Aviv University's Adi Lautman Interdisciplinary Program for Outstanding Students (2010-2014).
Green's research critically examines inheritance systems, family structures, and economic thought in revolutionary and Napoleonic France. Her work bridges historical analysis with contemporary discussions of social inequality, focusing on how state interventions in inheritance practices shaped modern wealth distribution. Methodologically, she combines archival research with analysis of family books, genealogies, and bureaucratic records.
She has presented her findings at leading institutions including Harvard, Princeton, and École des hautes études en sciences sociales, with recurring themes in her work exploring the intersections of kinship, statistics, and state formation during periods of political transformation.
Her scientific recognition includes:
- Martin Buber Society of Fellows Post-doctoral Fellowship (2022-2026)
- Charlotte Elizabeth Procter Honorary Fellowship (Princeton, 2021-2022)
- Bernadotte E. Schmitt Grant (American Historical Association, 2021)
- Georges Lurcy Fellowship for Research in France (2019-2020)
Current research is supported by multiple grants enabling archival work in France, with no indication of formal student supervision. Her two major book projects represent significant contributions to understanding how historical inheritance practices inform modern socioeconomic structures.
