Nereyda Falconi is a Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Biology at Pennsylvania State University, affiliated with the McGraw Lab. She holds positions in the Andean Bear Expert Team of the UICN Bear Specialist Group and the Natural History Museum of San Marcos University, Lima-Peru. Her research focuses on ecological dynamics, quantitative data analysis, and conservation biology.
Education: B.S. in Biology from Universidad Agraria La Molina (Peru), M.S. in Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation from Universidade Estadual de Santa Cruz (Brazil), and Ph.D. in Environmental Conservation from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
Research interests include habitat selection of maned sloths in Brazil’s Atlantic Forest, distribution of Andean bears in Peru, and frog movement patterns. Her work integrates spatial and landscape ecology methodologies to address conservation challenges.
