Nelly Goutaudier is a Professor at the University of Poitiers affiliated with the Center for Research on Cognition and Learning (CeRCA) and Maison des Sciences de l'Homme et de la Société (MSHS). Her research focuses on trauma psychopathology, memory mechanisms, and perinatal mental health within the Aging and Psychopathology of Memory (ViPsyM) team.
Her primary research interests span Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Posttraumatic Growth (PTG), Perinatal Psychopathology, Personality Traits, and Orthorexia Nervosa. She investigates trauma exposure characteristics, memory reconsolidation processes, and pathological eating behaviors through both clinical and experimental frameworks. Her work emphasizes French population studies with cross-cultural applications, particularly examining childbirth trauma, chronic pain impacts, and pandemic-related psychological effects.
Recent publications (2022-2025) demonstrate consistent focus on trauma spectrum phenomena, with growing attention to orthorexia nervosa validation and gender-specific trauma responses. Her methodological approach integrates lexicometric analysis, longitudinal designs, and neural correlates research, primarily utilizing French cohorts while maintaining international relevance through multilingual publications.
She supervises doctoral research including Raphael Ayache's work on chronic pain trauma and Mélanie Voyer's neural studies on propranolol effects. Administrative roles include Associate Editor of the European Review of Applied Psychology, 3rd Vice-President of Poitiers' Scientific Commission (Psychology section), ethics committee membership for non-interventional studies, and leadership of the 'work in social, health and paramedic' pre-professional program.
As core member of the ViPsyM research team, she contributes to interdisciplinary projects examining memory psychopathology across aging populations while maintaining active clinical psychology practice through university-affiliated victimology services.
