Neil Randall

Neil Randall is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Waterloo, Canada. As Executive Director of the Games Institute and Chair of the Council for Responsible Innovation and Technology, he bridges literary scholarship with digital media studies through interdisciplinary research.

Recent publications analyze peer-to-peer networks, online language evolution (including emoticons and acronyms), and user interface design. The 2002 Lingo Online study with MSN.CA revealed generational adoption patterns of digital communication tools.
