Neil Olley is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Wolverhampton, Faculty of Arts, Business, and Social Sciences. He holds a PhD in Criminology from the University of Edinburgh, an MSc in Criminology from the University of Edinburgh, an LLB Honours from the University of Southampton, and a PGCertHE from the University of Wolverhampton. His research focuses on organized crime, anti-money laundering, drug policy, and transnational policing. He has published extensively on topics including victimology, drug culture, and international policing strategies.
Teaching interests include modules on criminological theories, crime control, serious/organized crime, and policing. His work integrates academic research with practical implications for policy and law enforcement.
Selected publications highlight his expertise in transnational crime networks, victim rights frameworks, and socio-cultural dimensions of drug use. He has held academic positions at the University of Strathclyde and the Open University prior to his current role.
