Neha Batura is an Associate Professor in Health Economics at the Global Business School for Health, University College London (UCL), and serves as Director of the UCL Health Economics Policy Lab. She holds a PhD in Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) and an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford.
Her research focuses on the economic evaluation of health interventions in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), with a particular emphasis on maternal and child health, nutrition, poverty and inequality, non-communicable diseases, and health workforce dynamics. Her work spans South Asia, Southeast Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Pacific Islands.
Recent publications highlight her expertise in cost analysis for antenatal care in Papua New Guinea, behavior change interventions for antibiotic use in Indonesia, and multidisciplinary approaches to community health in South Africa and Southeast Asia. She employs mixed-methods designs and collaborates with stakeholders across diverse global regions.
