Dr. Nebojsa Stojcic is an Associate Professor and researcher at the University of Dubrovnik, Croatia, where he currently serves as Vice Rector for Business Affairs. He previously held the position of Head of the Department of Economics and Business at the same institution. He is also a Visiting Professor at Staffordshire University, UK, and founder/director of the Center for Research in Digital Transformation (CREDO) at the University of Dubrovnik.
Stojcic holds a PhD in Economics from Staffordshire University Business School (2011), alongside postgraduate certifications in research supervision, economics analysis, and research methods. His research focuses on industrial economics, economics of innovation, urban and regional economics, digital transformation, and advancing economies. He explores how middle-income countries transition to innovation-driven growth amid digital transformation, with notable work published in journals like European Economic Review and Regional Studies.
His recent articles (2013–2020) emphasize innovation systems in emerging economies, fiscal decentralization impacts, and spatial productivity spillovers. He has coordinated over 30 projects under EU frameworks (H2020, FP7, Erasmus+) and Croatian Science Foundation grants, focusing on innovation policy, regional development, and economic restructuring.
