Dr. Navneet Dhand is an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, Director of the Asia Pacific Consortium of Veterinary Epidemiology (APCOVE), and a member of the Sydney Institute of Agriculture and Sydney Southeast Asia Centre. His expertise spans veterinary epidemiology, zoonotic disease surveillance, and One Health initiatives. He holds qualifications including BVSc&AH, MVSc, and MANZCVS (Vet Epi). His research focuses on enhancing disease detection and response capacities in the Asia-Pacific region through training programs, such as APCOVE’s 'animal disease detective' modules, and addressing challenges like bovine tuberculosis, Hendra virus, and brucellosis.
Education: BVSc&AH, MVSc, MANZCVS (Vet Epi), GradCert(Higher Edu).
Research interests include veterinary epidemiology methodologies, zoonotic disease transmission dynamics, and strengthening veterinary workforce capabilities through education and technology. His work integrates field epidemiology training, public health policy, and interdisciplinary collaboration to combat emerging infectious diseases.
Key projects include the Veterinary Epidemiology Teaching Skills (VETS) workshop, AI-powered cattle disease diagnostics, and grants supporting Asia-Pacific disease surveillance.
