Navid Saeidi is a Research Fellow at the Department Microbial Biotechnology (Electrobiotechnology Research Group) at Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research – UFZ in Leipzig, Germany. His research focuses on developing sustainable water treatment technologies, particularly electrosorption processes using 2D materials and activated carbon for PFAS removal.
Education: Dr. rer. nat. (PhD) in Environmental Sciences from Leipzig University (2021).
Research Interests:
- Electrosorption mechanisms for organic contaminants
- Novel electrode materials (2D materials, activated carbon)
- Environmental impacts of adsorption technologies
- PFAS remediation in water systems
Publications Highlight: Contributions to understanding electrosorption performance, adsorption kinetics, and environmental sustainability of adsorbents. Key findings include enhanced PFAS removal via potential-controlled processes and evaluation of 2D materials' efficacy.
Labs/Teams: Active in the Electrobiotechnology Research Group and previously in the Department Technical Biogeochemistry at UFZ.
