Navid Sadeghi, M.D., M.S.P.H., serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and is a member of the Division of Hematology and Oncology. He holds key administrative roles as Chief of the Cancer Program for Parkland Health & Hospital System and Assistant Director of Clinical Investigation at Parkland for UT Southwestern's Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Sadeghi earned his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, completed internal medicine residency at UTHealth Houston's McGovern Medical School, and pursued hematology-oncology fellowship training at UT Southwestern (serving as Chief Fellow). He also holds a Master of Science in Public Health in epidemiology from the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston.
His research focuses on cancer outcomes, care delivery, and healthcare disparities, addressing systemic inequities in oncology through interdisciplinary approaches spanning hematology and oncology. This work emphasizes real-world data analysis to optimize cancer care pathways and reduce socioeconomic barriers.
Professional recognition includes:
- Eugene P. Frenkel Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award (2016)
- Fellowship in the American College of Physicians
Dr. Sadeghi actively contributes to the American Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and American Society of Hematology, while serving on multiple institutional committees at UT Southwestern and Parkland focused on clinical operations and equity initiatives.
