Associate Professor Nattaporn Panphothong is a faculty member in the Department of Thai Language, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University. They hold a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Hawai'i (1996) and a BA (First Class Honors) in Thai Language from Chulalongkorn University (1985). Their expertise spans pragmatics, conversation analysis, and critical discourse analysis with a focus on Thai linguistic and cultural studies.

Their studies often employ critical discourse analysis to uncover ideologies in media, textbooks, and political speeches.
