Nathan Wolek is a Professor of Digital Arts and Music Technology and Chair of Creative Arts at Stetson University, where he holds the Lydia Pfund Endowed Professorship. His interdisciplinary research bridges sound art, environmental acoustics, and accessibility.
Dr. Wolek directs the Young Sound Seekers program with the National Park Service (2020-2025), creating accessible soundscape education for blind/partially-sighted youth. His creative practice encompasses electronic music composition, audio field recording, and installations exploring natural soundscapes. As a two-time Fulbright Scholar, he has conducted international research in Norway and Scotland.
His publications demonstrate consistent focus on inclusive pedagogy and acoustic ecology. Recent articles explore endocrine-neural pathways and human neuronal gene regulation patterns.
Awards include dual Fulbright Scholarships and leadership roles in international conferences like the 2023 World Forum for Acoustic Ecology.
