Nathan Neale

Nathan Neale is a Senior Researcher at NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) and manager of the Interfacial Materials Chemistry group. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s in Chemistry with a minor in Political Science from Middlebury College.

Research Interests: His work focuses on solar photochemistry, photovoltaics, and electrochemical energy storage using nanostructured inorganic semiconductors. He specializes in silicon anodes for lithium-ion batteries, boron-silicon alloys, and CO2 reduction electrocatalysts.
