Gabi Kliegle

Gabi Kliegle is a Researcher II at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) within the Chemical Engineering department of the Catalytic Carbon Transformation and Scale-Up Center. Her work focuses on advanced materials for energy storage and carbon capture technologies.

Research Interests: Gabi’s research spans material science and chemical engineering, with a focus on:

• Battery Technology: Silicon-based anodes for lithium-ion batteries, including boron alloying and nanoparticle engineering
• Carbon Capture: Development of amine-functionalized silica materials for CO2 adsorption and gas stream treatment
• Sustainable Energy Systems: Innovations in energy storage and carbon mitigation strategies

Collaborations: Recent work involves cross-institutional partnerships with researchers from academic and national laboratory networks.
