Nathan Goodman is a Senior Research Fellow at the F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the Mercatus Center, George Mason University. Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Economics at New York University, affiliated with the Program on the Foundations of the Market Economy.
His educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Economics from George Mason University, where he was a Ph.D. fellow with the Mercatus Center and a Graduate Fellow with the F.A. Hayek Program.
Goodman's research focuses on political economy, public choice theory, institutional economics, defense economics, immigration policy, and polycentric governance. He is particularly interested in the political economy of immigration and border militarization, analyzing how alternative institutional arrangements shape the provision of security.
He teaches courses including IWP 731 / IWPO 731: Foundations in Political and Economic Freedom and IWPO 730: Public Choice and Public Policy through the Mercatus Center's academic programs.
