Paul Lewis was a Professor of Political Economy at King's College London, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy and the Department of Political Economy. He held previous roles as a Newton Trust Lecturer at the University of Cambridge, and was an Affiliated Fellow at the Mercatus Center's F.A. Hayek Program. Lewis passed away in March 2025.
His research focused on political economy, history of economic thought (Austrian, Bloomington, and Virginia schools), social ontology, and vocational education. His work was funded by organizations like the CIPD, Earhart Foundation, and Gatsby Charitable Foundation. He authored Essays on Liberalism and the Economy (2022), a volume in F.A. Hayek's Collected Works.
Key awards include the 2016 Best Essay in Austrian Economics award. Lewis advised PhD students on topics like economic methodology and vocational policy.
