Nathan Evans is an Associate Lecturer at the School of Art, Architecture and Design, London Metropolitan University. He is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, director, and performer with a focus on queer literature, poetry, and publishing. His work has been funded by the Arts Council England, toured internationally with the British Council, and archived by the British Film Institute.
His research interests include queer identity representation in poetry and performance, LGBTQ+ narratives in contemporary literature, and the intersection of publishing with artistic expression. He leads modules on editing and publishing, drawing from his role as Editor at Inkandescent, a press recognized as a finalist for Small Publisher of the Year (British Book Awards 2022).
Key publications include the poetry collections Threads (2016) and CNUT (2019), the novella One Last Song (2024), and the upcoming All the Young Queers (2025). His work has been showcased at venues like the Royal Festival Hall and Royal Vauxhall Tavern, and he hosts the BOLD Queer Poetry Soirée.
Professional recognition includes long-listings for the Polari First Book Prize (2017) and Polari Book Prize. His creative projects blend performance art with literary innovation, often addressing themes of identity, community, and cultural memory.
