His research interests include the reception of New Testament texts in antiquity, particularly Matthew’s Gospel and Paul’s letters. He examines how early Christian communities interpreted scriptural traditions while navigating tensions between insider/outsider dynamics and economic metaphors in divine relationships.
Recent work analyzes texts like Matthew 5:25-26’s legal imagery and Paul’s use of δικαιοσύνη in discussions of generosity. His 2013 monograph explores Matthew’s celestial economy through debt, wages, and treasure imagery.
No scientific awards are listed, though his scholarly contributions significantly impact New Testament studies. He advises graduate students in early Christian literature and runs a research group focused on biblical interpretation in antiquity.
