Nathan Brown

Nathan Brown is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point since 2024. He also serves as the Lab Director of the Pineries Running Lab and works as a Physical Therapist at Roberts Physical Therapy.

Dr. Brown's research focuses on the role of physical therapists in rural healthcare, educational sustainability in physical therapy education, and the biomechanics of running including footwear design and injury rehabilitation. His work aims to improve healthcare access in rural communities and integrate sustainability principles into professional education.

His recent scholarly outputs show a strong trend in rural healthcare and sustainability. He has presented on advancing health equity for rural populations through physical therapy education and developed a roadmap for sustainability competencies. Additionally, his earlier work includes rehabilitation research on return-to-sport after knee injury and treatment of neuropathic conditions.

As the Lab Director of the Pineries Running Lab, he leads research in running biomechanics and injury prevention. He is also a Senior Contributor to Doctors of Running and an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
