Nathalie LARCHÉ

Nathalie LARCHÉ (born 1962) is a contractual faculty member at the Strasbourg School of Architecture (ENSA Strasbourg), part of the University of Strasbourg, where she has taught project workshops for first-year students since 1999. She simultaneously maintains an active professional practice as founder of the Nathalie Larché Architecture Agency in Strasbourg, established in 1992 and now comprising a team of 8 architects operating as 'Nathalie LARCHE_ Nicolas METZGER architecture agency' since 2011.

Her academic and professional work centers on Theories and practices of architectural and urban design, with distinctive expertise in wood construction (both structural and architectural) developed since 1995. From the 2000s onward, her projects have increasingly integrated environmental considerations into conceptual thinking, reflecting a commitment to sustainable design approaches. This dual focus on material expertise and environmental consciousness defines her architectural philosophy.

LARCHÉ holds a DPLG Architect diploma from the Nancy School of Architecture (1987) and completed a 3rd cycle in Architecture and Archeology (1990). After several years of professional experience in Germany refining her technical construction knowledge, she established her Strasbourg-based practice. A notable international dimension to her work comes through collaboration with the SWS Agency in Karlsruhe, resulting in joint projects across France and Germany.

Her agency has completed numerous significant public projects including educational facilities, sports centers, community halls, and residential developments throughout eastern France. These projects have established her agency within the regional architectural landscape of the Grand Est region, with particular recognition for projects utilizing local wood construction methods as seen in the School complex in Hadol (88).
