Natasha Glaisyer is Reader in Early Modern History at the University of York, specializing in social and cultural dimensions of commerce in 17th-18th century Britain. Her research examines lotteries, print culture, and commercial knowledge circulation.
Current book project Venturing Fortunes analyzes English lotteries (1567-1826). Previous work explored commercial revolution through merchant literature, newspapers, and the Royal Exchange. Archival investigations include the London Gazette's dissemination networks in the 1690s.
She leads the AHRC-funded 'Culture of Commerce' project and teaches courses on material culture, global economic history, and possession in early modern England. Her research utilizes York Minster archives and British Library collections.
