Natasha A. Kelly is a Visiting Professor for Cultural Studies at the Studium Generale of the Universität der Künste Berlin since Winter Semester 2023/24. Her work bridges academic research, artistic practice, and activism. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on Black German history, present, and futurity through a Black feminist lens, employing multimedia formats like film, theater, and installations rooted in written concepts.
Key research themes include intersectional feminism, racial capitalism, and decolonizing cultural narratives. Her 2023 book Schwarz. Deutsch. Weiblich. critiques how elite thought and racism structure Western feminist discourse, centering Black women's narratives in German contexts.
Professional activities include curatorial projects, public lectures (e.g., Bürgerhaus MüZe Cologne event on November 2, 2023), and artistic collaborations. Her creative practice emphasizes storytelling as both medium and methodology.
