Natascha Just is a Professor of Media & Internet Governance at the Department of Communication and Media Research, University of Zurich, Switzerland. Prior to her current role, she served as an Associate Professor at Michigan State University (2017-2018) and remains affiliated with the Quello Center as a Research Fellow. She holds an MA in Communication Science/Romance Philology and a Ph.D. in Communication Science from the University of Vienna, Austria.

Her research focuses on the intersection of media policy, economics, and digital innovation, particularly examining the controllability and consequences of innovation-induced media change. Key themes include competition policy, market power regulation, evolving governance structures, algorithmic systems, Internet platforms, and shifts in Internet use and public attitudes.
She has received significant recognition for her work, including the Hertha Firnberg Scholarship, a post-doctoral fellowship at the Annenberg School for Communication, and research fellowships at the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the Stanford-Vienna Transatlantic Technology Law Forum.
Natascha leads the Media and Internet Governance Division at the University of Zurich, contributing to academic discourse through publications in journals such as New Media & Society, Journal of Communication, and International Journal of Communication, alongside authoring books on media policy and digital governance.
