Nataliya V. Ivankova

Nataliya V. Ivankova, PhD, MPH, is a Professor in the Department of Health Services Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She holds joint appointments in the School of Public Health, School of Nursing, and School of Medicine. Dr. Ivankova directs the graduate Certificate in Applications of Mixed Methods Research and co-directs the UAB Mixed Methods, Community-based Participatory Research and Qualitative Research Approaches Core. She earned her PhD in Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and an MPH in Epidemiology from UAB.

Her research integrates mixed methods with community-based participatory approaches, focusing on health disparities, chronic disease management (e.g., cancer, diabetes), and implementation science. She has led NIH/AHRQ-funded projects on cancer survivorship, HIV prevention, and surgical equity. Key themes include:
