Nataliia Varha is an Assistant Professor at Aalborg University's Department of Sociology and Social Work, affiliated with The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. She is a member of the WISER research group (Welfare, Innovation, Social Work and Employment Relations). Her work focuses on migration, youth labor dynamics, education systems, and social policy.
Her professional trajectory includes extensive project expertise: co-leading the SARU: Scholars at Risk Ukraine project (2025), advising on EU-funded initiatives like 'U-LEAD with Europe' (2021), and contributing to migration-focused research in Ukraine and Europe. Notable projects include analyzing transition from school to university among national minorities (2016), and leading a regional employment study in Transcarpathian Ukraine (2009).
Teaching specialties include Sociology of Labor, Higher Education Research, and Social Work Management. She has held grants from institutions like CASE (Vilnius) and participated in EU Tempus projects enhancing social work education across Europe (2009–2012).
Her research integrates sociological analysis with policy development, addressing issues like informal employment, intercultural dialogue in education, and regional development challenges.
