Natalie Miles is a Senior Tutor - Research & Pedagogy Support within the Melbourne School of Design at the University of Melbourne, part of the multi-disciplinary Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning. Her role focuses on advancing research outputs and pedagogical innovation in built environment education through collaborative projects and interdisciplinary approaches.
She is currently completing a PhD centered on Social Infrastructure networks, particularly schools, and is engaged with the ARC Linkage project Building Connections: Schools as Community Hubs through the Learning Environments Applied Research Network (LEaRN). Her research integrates principles of social equity, environmental sustainability, and urban planning, while her teaching emphasizes innovative design methodologies and collaborative practice.
Natalie’s work explores intersections between architecture, urban design, and community-focused infrastructure. She actively contributes to the Faculty’s research directions in Future Cities, Healthy Communities, and Practice Innovation, advocating for interdisciplinary approaches to address contemporary urban challenges.
