Natalie M. Brandt is an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law, where she has served since 2021 teaching Legal Writing I, Legal Writing II, and Transactional Drafting.
She earned her J.D. from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law in 2001, where she received top honors in advocacy competitions.
Her research centers on First Amendment jurisprudence with specific focus on the Establishment Clause and church-state separation, while her professional expertise spans written advocacy, civil procedure, and alternative dispute resolution. She actively connects her scholarship to pro bono legal service and mediation work.
Her notable awards include:
- First place in Dedman’s annual Client Counseling competition
- Best Oral Advocate award at Pace University’s Environmental Moot Court competition
Professor Brandt maintains significant professional engagement through volunteer roles: serving as local counsel for the Appignani Humanist Legal Center, membership in the American Civil Liberties Union, volunteer work with North Texas Legal Aid, and certified mediation practice emphasizing pro bono services. Prior to academia, she led litigation at Wright Law firm.
