Natalie K. Houghtby-Haddon

Natalie K. Houghtby-Haddon is an Associate Professor in the GW College of Professional Studies and Associate Director of The George Washington University Center for Excellence in Public Leadership. She teaches leadership theory, ethics, change management, and personal development across the Center’s leadership programs. Her administrative roles include Program Manager for Defense Information Services Agency Executive, Mid-Level, and Emerging Leaders Development Programs, and Faculty Program Director for the Master of Professional Studies in Public Leadership with a Specialization in Multi-Sector Management.

Her education includes a Ph.D. in Human Sciences from The George Washington University, a Doctor of Ministry and Master of Divinity from Claremont School of Theology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Boston University. She is an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church and has served in various church roles in Los Angeles. Prior to GW, she was President of Immaculate Heart College Center and Interim Executive Director at the Institute for Community Leadership.

Her expertise spans biblical studies, religion and public policy, and leadership development. Notably, she authored Changed Imagination, Changed Obedience: Social Imagination and the Bent-Over Woman in the Gospel of Luke. Her work integrates academic rigor with practical applications in public and multi-sector leadership.

Her professional activities include curriculum development, faculty advising, client relationship management, and proposal development for the Center. She has contributed to programs addressing ethical leadership, organizational change, and cross-sector collaboration.
