Dr. Natalia Radywyl is a Vice Chancellor's Principal Research Fellow in Regenerative Futures and Associate Professor at RMIT University's School of Design (College of Design and Social Context). Her 15-year career spans academic roles including Adjunct Faculty at New York's School of Visual Arts (2018-2021), Research Associate at the University of Melbourne's Victorian Eco-Innovation Lab (2013-2012), and Lecturer at the University of Melbourne's School of Culture and Communications (2004-2009). She has held non-academic leadership positions such as Head of Research at Today Design (2022-2024) and Head of Research at the Public Policy Lab (2021-2022).
Her research focuses on translational design collaborations between academia, designers, and funders to achieve regenerative societal impact. Core themes include equitable policy redesign, service design, placemaking, and systemic design. She has led projects for Fortune 100 firms, governments, and NGOs.
Teaching highlights include designing curricula at Stanford University, Parsons School of Design, and the School for Visual Arts, covering ethnography, transdisciplinary design, and social innovation planning. Current supervisions include projects on 'Urban Play sustainability' and 'Creative placemaking interventions'.
Her publications span design research methodologies, urban policy, nanotechnology sustainability, and cultural studies, demonstrating interdisciplinary engagement across design, technology, and social sciences.
