Dr. Nargiza Buranova is a faculty member in the Department of Special Education at the University of Missouri, where she also earned her Ph.D. Her work is centered on improving social skills outcomes for students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) through innovative technological and telehealth-based interventions.
Her research focuses on developing and evaluating social skills interventions, particularly through digital platforms such as the vSocial project—an immersive online environment designed to support youth with ASD. She investigates how social skill development impacts mental health and how interventions can be optimized for adolescents on the spectrum.
