Naomi Rudoe is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Westminster since 2009. She holds degrees from the University of Cambridge (BA), Goldsmiths (MA), and The Open University (MSc, PhD), alongside certifications in higher education teaching and English language instruction. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and serves as Senior Tutor for BA Sociology and BA Sociology & Criminology.
Her research focuses on the sociology of education, family studies, and social policy, with three key strands: Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), Early Years Education policy, and young motherhood policies. Notable projects include a British Academy-funded study on parental engagement in RSE (2024-25) and another on early years education policy (2016-17). Her doctoral work on young mothers and education was supported by the ESRC.
Rudoe has received the University of Westminster Teaching Fellowship (2016) and a Team Award (2017). She leads modules on education, families, and research methods. Her work critiques policy implementation and challenges in marginalized communities, with publications in top journals like Sex Education and British Educational Research Journal. She is affiliated with the Centre for Social Justice Research.
