Nanette Levinson

Nanette S. Levinson is a Professor and Academic Director of the SIS/Sciences-Po Exchange at American University's School of International Service (SIS). As co-director of the Internet Governance Lab, she combines academic leadership with research on knowledge transfer, internet governance, social entrepreneurship, and cross-national collaboration. Her work bridges global governance, technological policy, and cultural innovation in international contexts.

Her scholarly output includes co-edited volumes like Researching Internet Governance: Methods, Frameworks, Futures (MIT Press, 2020) and The Turn To Infrastructure In Internet Governance (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016). She focuses on internet governance institutionalization, multistakeholderism, and socio-technical policy frameworks.

Recent publications examine internet protocol politics, geopolitical implications of digital infrastructure, and inclusive governance models. Her awards include the International Studies Association's Distinguished Scholar Award (2021) and Ashoka Foundation's recognition for social entrepreneurship education (2011).
