Nancy Wolff is a Distinguished Professor at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University and serves as Director of the Bloustein Center for Survey Research. Her work focuses on public policies, mental health, and criminal justice practices affecting incarcerated populations.

Research interests span criminal justice systems, mental health, trauma, addiction, and rehabilitation, with a focus on prison populations, gender differences, and methodological rigor. Recent publications examine trauma prevalence in Spanish prisons and meta-analyses of victimization trends.
Scientific awards include the Atlantic Public Policy Fellowship (1999), Russell Berrie Award (2008), and Everyday Hero Award semi-finalist (2012). She has secured federal grants from NIMH, NIDA, and the National Institute of Justice.
As a former editor of the Journal of Offender Rehabilitation and associate editor of Justice Quarterly, she contributes editorial leadership. She also founded Books Behind Bars, a prison literacy program, and leads wellness initiatives in correctional facilities.
