Nancy McKeown is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Sciences at MacEwan University. She holds a PhD from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a B.Sc. from Stanford. Her research focuses on planetary geology, particularly Martian mineralogy and geomorphology using data from CRISM and HiRISE instruments aboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
Dr. McKeown specializes in imaging spectroscopy and GIS, with collaborative projects spanning Canada, the U.S., the UK, France, and the Netherlands. She contributes to understanding Mars' past climate through phyllosilicate analysis and investigates recurring slope lineae phenomena.
Notable scientific awards include a 2016 Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Fellowship and multiple MacEwan University research/travel funds (2010–2012). She has presented at prestigious conferences such as the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference and the American Geophysical Union's fall meeting.
