Dr. Nancy LaFleur is a Lecturer in Biological Sciences at Kean University's Dorothy and George Hennings College of Science, Mathematics and Technology. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of Connecticut.
Her research investigates seed dispersal mutualisms and their role in regulating species distributions, with additional interests in avian ecology, animal cognition, and the biology of invasive species. She has conducted research on foraging behaviors of gray squirrels, Neotropical migrant birds, and the impact of breeding habitat fragmentation.
Recent publications focus on mechanistic modeling of invasive plant spread and ecological interactions between birds and invasive plant species. Her work contributes to conservation biology through predictive modeling of species distributions.
