Theresa Culley is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Cincinnati, with roles spanning faculty leadership, grant coordination, and academic service. She earned her Ph.D. in Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology from The Ohio State University (2000) and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine (1994). Her research focuses on plant population biology, invasive species ecology, and conservation genetics, particularly in Hawaiian endemics and ornamental invasives like Callery pear and wintercreeper.
Dr. Culley's work integrates ecological and genetic approaches to study breeding systems (e.g., cleistogamy, dioecy) and habitat fragmentation impacts. She leads the Culley Lab (culleylab.com), emphasizing conservation through cryobiotechnology and ex situ preservation.
