Nancy Dayton serves as Dean of Arts & Humanities at Taylor University, a role expanded from her tenure as Chair of the English & Modern Languages Department (2000–present) and Associate Dean for the Division of Letters (2004–2007). She holds a PhD in American Literature (Miami University), MA in English Literature (Indiana University), and BA in English/Writing (Indiana Wesleyan University). Her academic leadership includes developing the Making Literature conference and founding Literary Editing/Publishing courses linked to Parnassus and Relief: A Journal of Faith and Art.
Research interests focus on diverse literatures—particularly African American, Native American, and world literature—with presentations at national conferences. She co-directs IAS 496 Senior Seminar and teaches courses like ENG 212 (Critical Approaches to Literature) and ENG 444 (Contemporary Literature).
Leadership roles include service on Taylor’s Foundational Core Committee, Faculty Council, and CCCU Women’s Leadership Development Institute. Her career spans committee work in curriculum development, general education reform, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
