Nancy Binkin is an Adjunct Professor at the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health & Human Longevity Science, University of California San Diego. She holds expertise in global health, maternal and child health, and epidemiology. Her career includes 20 years at the CDC, roles at UNICEF, and leadership at Italy's National Institute of Health, where she developed surveillance systems like PASSI and OKKIO. Currently, she advises the USAID TRAction project on MCH equity and TEPHINET for epidemiology training.
Her research focuses on infectious disease control (TB, HIV, malaria), health surveillance, and public health policy. Notable projects include evaluations of vaccine effectiveness during the pandemic and malaria prevention strategies in Tanzania. She has contributed to over 30 countries' health programs, emphasizing equity in service delivery.
