Professor Nalan Alan Selçuk serves as Head of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine in Istanbul, Turkey. Holding the academic rank of Professor since at least 2008 when she assumed departmental leadership, she maintains an active role in medical education and clinical research within the field of nuclear medicine.
Her research interests span multiple critical areas including oncological imaging applications (particularly PET/CT in lung, gynecological, and thyroid cancers), pediatric nuclear medicine protocols, cardiac scintigraphy techniques, and radiopharmaceutical therapy development. Professor Selçuk has contributed significantly to establishing standardized nuclear medicine procedures for pediatric applications in Turkey.
Analysis of her publication record reveals a strong emphasis on clinical validation of imaging techniques and therapeutic applications in oncology. Her work demonstrates particular expertise in correlating metabolic imaging findings (PERCIST) with anatomical response criteria (RECIST) for cancer treatment monitoring, advancing precision medicine approaches in nuclear oncology.
