Peter Nagy is a Full Professor at the University of Debrecen and University of Veterinary Medicine, Hungary, and holds visiting professorships at Semmelweis University. He serves as Scientific Director and Head of the Molecular Immunology and Toxicology Department at the National Institute of Oncology, Budapest. He is Acting Director of the Chemistry Coordination Institute at Debrecen University and chairs the Scientific and Social Advisory Board of the Count István Tisza Foundation.
Education: PhD (joint with KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden) and postdoctoral fellowships at University of Oklahoma (USA) and University of Otago (New Zealand). Additional research fellowships at University of Washington and ETH Zurich.
Research focuses on redox biology in oncogenesis, tumor progression, immune response mechanisms, and cancer therapy resistance. He leads the National Tumorbiology Laboratory and Redox Tumorbiology Thematic Excellence Programs. As Work Package leader in EU projects like UNCAN, he addresses cancer care inequalities.
