Nafisa Yeasmin is an Adjunct Professor of the Sociology of Immigration at the University of Oulu's Kerttu Saalasti Institute and serves as a Development Manager. Her research focuses on immigrant entrepreneurship, migration governance, socio-economic integration in the Arctic, and regional development. She leads the UArctic Thematic Network on Arctic Migration and is involved in projects like the KASVA initiative and a green transition center in Upper and Eastern Kainuu.

Her research interests include the well-being of immigrant youth, multiculturalism, and resilience in circumpolar regions. She has contributed to topics such as labor mobility, business models, and social inclusion. Recognized as Academic of the Year in Finland 2019, her work bridges academic research with practical solutions for sustainable development and social equity.
She collaborates with the Micro-Entrepreneurship Centre (MicroENTRE®) and engages in international networks like UArctic, addressing migration challenges and fostering innovation in the Arctic context.
