Professor Nadja Damij is an accomplished academic and researcher in digital business and management at the Sunderland Business School at the University of Sunderland. She holds a PhD in Business Information Management and has led high-impact projects with a total budget of £4.4 million. Her roles include former Head of Subject, Programme Director, and Dean, demonstrating extensive leadership experience. Professor Damij is also a Guest Editor for prestigious journals like IEEE TEMs and the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research, focusing on digital innovation and pandemic response systems. She was awarded the Excellence in Leadership Award (2017) by the International Institute for Applied Knowledge Management.
Her research interests span digital platforms, emergent technologies, business process modeling, and entrepreneurship. Notably, she pioneered insights into digital entrepreneurship and the adoption of technologies like high-performance computing (HPC) for SMEs. Her work emphasizes sustainability, value creation, and interdisciplinary approaches to business challenges.
Professor Damij’s scholarly contributions include top-tier publications and a highly cited Springer eBook on process management (2018). She collaborates internationally, leading projects such as the Digital Future Challenge-Based Learning consortium.
