Nadine Wehida serves as a Lecturer in Genetics and Molecular Biology within the Department of Biomolecular Sciences at Kingston University's School of Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Chemistry. Appointed in 2022, she concurrently holds deputy course leadership for BSc Biochemistry and Biological Sciences programs and earned Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy recognition in 2023.
Her academic credentials include:
- BSc (Hons) in Pharmacy from Alexandria University, Egypt (2011)
- MSc in Clinical Biochemistry (2017)
- PhD in Biochemistry from Medical Research Institute, Alexandria University (2021)
Dr. Wehida's research centers on cancer biology with emphases on tumor oxidative stress mechanisms, genomic drivers of carcinogenesis, and clinicopathological disease evaluation. Current investigations focus on drug repurposing strategies for oncology applications through active collaborations with cancer biology specialists. She established her research group at Kingston University in October 2023 to advance these drug repurposing initiatives.
Her professional recognition includes:
- Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (2023)
In academic leadership, Dr. Wehida serves as module leader for Molecular Biology of the Cell (LS5001) and deputy course leader for Biochemistry/Biological Sciences programs. Previously at Pharos University (2011-2022), she instructed Pharmacy undergraduates in Medicinal Chemistry, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry while coordinating Chemistry department quality assurance.
Her research group launched in October 2023 supervises a Masters by Research candidate and PhD student investigating drug repurposing in cancer models through Kingston University's collaborative framework.
