Dr. Nadine Sika is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Future University in Egypt, and concurrently serves as a Visiting Scholar at the American University in Cairo. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Cairo University (2008), an MA in Political Science from the American University in Cairo (2000), and a BA in Political Science (1997). Her research focuses on democratization, education reform, migration dynamics, and civil society’s role in governance. She leads the Egyptian Migration Data Base project for the Consortium for Applied Research on International Migration (CARIM) and advises the British Council on establishing a Youth Virtual Think Tank in the Arab World. Her work bridges political theory with practical policy analysis in the Middle East.
Key professional roles include Research Coordinator at Partners in Development (PID) and consulting for international organizations. Her expertise spans labor mobility, skilled migration’s developmental impacts, and the interplay between education systems and democratic transitions. Recent publications address migration trends in the Arab world, Egypt’s civil society, and the political implications of education reforms.
