Nadia Selim is an Associate Lecturer in Arabic Language and Cultures at the University of Sydney and an Adjunct Lecturer in Education Futures at the University of South Australia. She holds a PhD from the University of South Australia and is an associate member of the Centre for Educational and Social Inclusion (CRESI). Her primary role involves coordinating Arabic language units and supervising research, with a focus on Arabic language learning methodologies, student motivation, and digital pedagogy in Islamic schooling contexts.

Research interests span three core areas:
- Students' motivation and engagement in Arabic language learning
- Pedagogical strategies for teaching Arabic as an additional language
- Integration of digital technologies in language education
Recent awards include the 2024 School of Languages and Cultures Early-Career Publication Prize and 2023 Teaching Excellence Commendation. She has co-authored over 20 publications, including book chapters on Arabic's role in global history and journal articles analyzing student experiences. Nadia also contributes to community outreach through teacher workshops and cultural awareness programs.
Current projects focus on understanding university students' engagement in Arabic language studies. She has supervised a PhD on volunteering in Islamic schools and is involved in grants related to immersive Arabic learning programs.
