Nadia Bouzid is a Research Fellow at Laval University's Department of Biology, affiliated with the Takuvik program (a joint international research laboratory between Université Laval and the French National Centre for Scientific Research - CNRS). Her work focuses on analyzing emerging contaminants, particularly nanoparticles and microplastics, across environmental compartments including air, water, and soil.
Her academic background includes:
- Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Université Paris-Est Créteil (2020-2023), developing Py-GC-MS methods for microplastics quantification in Seine River sediments.
- M.Sc. in Aquatic Systems and Water Management from Université de Paris (2018-2020).
- B.Sc. in Environmental Chemistry from Université d'Angers (2015-2018).
Specializing in analytical chemistry, Dr. Bouzid develops advanced detection techniques for trace contaminants while investigating their sources, transport pathways, and ecological impacts. Her research integrates laboratory analysis with environmental fate modeling to address pollution challenges in urban and natural ecosystems.
She conducts her work within the Takuvik program's framework, contributing to Arctic environmental research through nanoparticle characterization in cold-region samples.
