معرفی
Raoul-Marie Couture is a Professor and Sentinel North Research Chair in Aquatic Geochemistry at Université Laval, Canada. He also serves as Deputy Director of the International Research Laboratory Takuvik (CNRS / ULaval) until 2024.
- Ph.D. in Water Sciences (2010), Université du Québec, INRS-Eau, Terre et Environnement
- Marie-Curie Early Stage Researcher (2009), CNRS, France
- FRQNT Postdoctoral Fellowship (2011), Georgia Institute of Technology
His research focuses on coupled geochemical cycles in lakes, soils, and sediments, emphasizing redox processes across reactive interfaces like sediment-water boundaries. He specializes in water quality modeling (reactive transport, diagenetic, and lake models) and investigates the fate of metals/metalloids in boreal/arctic environments under global change.
Recent publications address thermokarst pond VOC emissions, subarctic thaw lake selenium dynamics, and climate impacts on lake oxygenation. Key methodologies include inverse diagenetic modeling and redox oscillation experiments.
- FRQNT Postdoctoral Fellowship (2011)
- Marie-Curie Early Stage Researcher (2009)
As a leader in catchment-scale modeling and lake response to environmental changes, he contributes to international consortia like MARS and NETLAKE. His work bridges field data acquisition and numerical model development to address urgent water quality issues such as contamination and eutrophication.
