Her academic credentials include:
- PhD, University of Michigan, 2023 (Ancient Mediterranean Art and Archaeology)
- BA, Randolph-Macon College, 2016 (Classics and Archaeology)
Dr. Hill's research bridges Classical Greek material culture studies and contemporary social justice initiatives. She investigates household structures, ceramic production, and drinking practices in Classical/Hellenistic Greece while pioneering antiracist frameworks in archaeology. Her blog 'Notes from the Apotheke' amplifies scholars of color in antiquity studies, reflecting her dual commitment to archaeological rigor and equity advocacy.
Her publication trajectory reveals a decisive shift toward integrating social justice into archaeological praxis. Recent works consistently address systemic barriers for BIPOC scholars, advocate for decolonized pedagogy, and redefine ethical engagement with Mediterranean antiquity. This cohesive body of scholarship positions her at the forefront of transforming archaeological discourse through inclusive methodologies.
Dr. Hill's contributions have been formally recognized through:
- Art Conway Enthusiasm for Teaching and Learning Award, Randolph Macon College (May 2024)
- Public Scholarship Award, Women’s Classical Caucus (January 2021)
She actively mentors emerging scholars as Women's Classical Caucus Mentorship Coordinator and shapes institutional policy through committee roles with the Archaeological Institute of America's DEI Committee and Classical Association of the Atlantic States' Anti-Racism Committee. Her fieldwork leadership spans the Olynthos Project (2017-present) and Pella Urban Dynamics Project (2022-present), building collaborative research environments that prioritize inclusive practices.
