Nader Habashi

Nader M. Habashi, MD is the Hamish S. and Christine C. Osborne Distinguished Professor of Advanced Pulmonary Care at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He serves as Medical Director of the Multi-Trauma Critical Care Unit and Clinical Medical Director of Respiratory Therapy at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

Dr. Habashi specializes in critical care management of trauma patients, with research focusing on mechanical ventilation strategies for ARDS, airway pressure release ventilation (APRV) protocols, and prevention of ventilator-induced lung injury. His work emphasizes personalized ventilation approaches based on physiological parameters to optimize alveolar stability.

His publications have contributed significantly to understanding ventilator-induced lung injury mechanisms and developing protective ventilation strategies for high-risk trauma populations.
