Reney Henderson

Reney Henderson, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She serves as Medical Director of the Multi-Trauma Critical Care Unit at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Her clinical and research expertise focuses on acute respiratory failure, ARDS, and mechanical ventilation strategies including Airway Pressure Release Ventilation (APRV).

Dr. Henderson's research investigates novel approaches to coagulation management and transfusion practices in cardiac surgery and critical care settings. Her recent work examines pharmacodynamic assessments of hemostatic agents, transfusion optimization strategies, and ECMO-related coagulation challenges.

Her publications demonstrate a consistent focus on improving perioperative and critical care outcomes through better understanding of coagulation dynamics, blood product utilization, and ventilatory support. Recent work shows particular emphasis on point-of-care coagulation monitoring, factor concentrate therapies, and transfusion reduction strategies in high-risk surgical populations.
